Did you know? 35 million Americans visit a Chiropractor every year!

Did you also know that 77% of people who have visited the Chiropractor in the last year have described their treatment as “very effective?

Well, now you do! If you’ve never been to a chiropractor, you’ve most likely seen the videos online of them cracking and popping their patients to give them relief.

That is one chiropractic care technique, but several others have become more relevant and practiced over the years.

In our last article, “How is pregnancy chiropractic different than traditional?” we discussed the Webster’s Technique, which is a gentle adjustment technique that keeps both mom and baby safe and comfortable during pregnancy.

We also talked about the “Spinal Manipulation Technique,” which is the traditional chiropractic technique.

So if that is the traditional way, why do we choose to use a different technique?

That’s a great question! We believe that we’ve found the sweet spot in treating our clients here at First Steps Chiropractic using the Torque Release Technique.

What is the Torque Release Technique?

The Torque Release Technique (TRT) is the most recent update to chiropractic care techniques. Like most chiropractic techniques, it is non-invasive and is designed to improve balance and alignment.

You may be asking yourself, “How is Torque Release Different?”

The Torque Release Technique is different because it does not involve popping, cracking, or stretching the spine to the point of tension to release and align the body.

TRT is a gentle form of adjusting that focuses on correcting spinal misalignments or subluxations and can be performed on all people, no matter their age or health condition.

The TRT Adjustment

A great way of explaining the TRT technique is by comparing it to tuning a guitar. First, you tweak the strings to get that pure, even sound. Next, your chiropractor gently manipulates the spine to help ease any irritated nerve functions.

The TRT technique doesn’t involve twisting or manipulation of the body. Instead, it uses an “Integrator” to deliver adjustments.

You will be comfortable, and your spine will be relaxed as the adjustment is performed.

What is an Integrator?

The Integrator, also known as the “Endorphin Gun” is an FDA-approved tool that allows chiropractors to administer quick, gentle, and precise adjustments without the need for manual hand manipulation.

When used, the tool makes a clicking sound and is considered a low force technique that creates a light but quick thrust onto the spine to help adjust the nerve frequency.

Think of it as if your body is getting a jump start, like a car!

Because of the Integrator’s precision, your chiropractor can reproduce the exact alignment and adjustment just as they did in prior treatments. This is compared to manual hand manipulation, in which you might not be able to replicate the same movement or adjustment repeatedly.

Benefits of TRT

This technique is used to help realign the body, stimulate your nervous system to release tension and stress, and assists your body in correcting itself naturally.

The TRT Technique is a highly researched technique that provides many benefits to those who are treated.

This is because TRT is:

Precise

Gentle

Quick

Reproducible

Reliable

Consistent

Effective

Specific

Because TRT focuses on balancing and calming the nervous system, those with the following health conditions may find great relief from their symptoms:

Back pain

Anxiety

Depression

Nausea

Balance

Low energy

Headaches

Neck pain

Digestive problems

Sleep issues

Dizziness

Other benefits have been clearer vision upon standing, enhancement in mood, and overall positive feeling. TRT has even been used to help treat mood and mental disorders to help aide and provide comfort to those struggling with those conditions.
